104mph driver 'wasn't paying attention' on way to Donegal

A GREENISLAND man caught doing 104mph in an Audi A4 on the M22 motorway near Antrim town "wasn't paying attention" to his speed on his way to Donegal, a defence lawyer said.

William Samuel Woods (42), a scaffolder, of Knockleigh Walk, admitted contravening a 70mph speed limit on November 7 this year.

Fining the defendant £200 along with a one month road ban, District Judge Nigel Broderick told Antrim Magistrates Court, sitting in Ballymena: "This court has said time and time again that those motorists who drive at this speed can readily expect a disqualification. It's far too fast and bordering on dangerous."
