104mph speed detection a 'wake-up call'

A DEFENCE lawyer for an accountant caught driving at 104mph on his way home from work said it had been a "wake-up call".

Antrim Magistrates Court, sitting in Ballymena, was also told Michael Ford (29), of Evesham Lane, Bangor, knew the speed had been "completely unacceptable".

The detection was made on the M2 motorway at Rathbeg near Antrim town (main picture) - a 70mph zone - on August 13 this year and the defendant was banned from driving for a month and fined £200.
