20-year-old Ballymena man accused of exposure has case sent to Crown Court

A 20-year-old Ballymena man charged with exposing his private parts 'intending that someone would see them and be caused alarm or distress' contrary to the Sexual Offences Order, in August last year, has had the case sent to Antrim Crown Court.

The accused is Brogan Caughey, with an address previously listed as Old Grange Avenue and now on the charge sheet as Ballyloughan Park.

Ballymena Magistrates Court was told he is now living at Grove Road.

There are also charges of intentionally engaging in a sexual activity - 'masturbation' - for the purpose of obtaining sexual gratification when a child under 13 'was present or in a place from which you could be observed, and you knew or believed that they were aware'.

The defendant appeared at court via video link from his solicitor's office.

During a Preliminary Enquiry the case was sent to Antrim Crown Court on April 8.

The defendant was given continuing bail of £500 with a surety.

As part of his bail he is 'not to be in the company of anyone under the age of 16 years old without an adult present'.
