Antrim man faces 'wounding' charge

AN Antrim town man is accused of wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm and possession of a bottle as an offensive weapon with intent to commit grievous bodily harm.

Sean McDonnell (24), of Suffolk Square, is charged in relation to June 20 last year.

Antrim Magistrates Court, sitting in Ballymena, was told the defendant has been on remand in custody for four months.

The case was adjourned to February 24 to fix a Preliminary Enquiry - the legal step to send a case to the Crown Court.
