Antrim town man is accused of 'fraud by abuse of position'

AN Antrim town man is accused of 'fraud by abuse of position'.

Jordan Henderson (25), with an address listed as Grange Manor, is charged in relation to dates between August 18, 2018, and January 7, 2020.

The charge is that he abused his position as an employee of Townparks Service Station 'by providing customers purchasing goods with a discount to which customers were not entitled, whether the discount be a complete discount or partial discount and doing so by either voiding the goods or not scanning the goods, thereby giving away the goods for free on occasion'.

A defence solicitor says the defendant works in a "fast food restaurant".

The lawyer said the pages in the case were "incredibly voluminous".

At Antrim Magistrates Court, sitting in Ballymena, the case was adjourned to December 7 for a Preliminary Enquiry - the legal step to send a case to the Crown Court.
