Antrim woman with history of making hoax calls about 'bombs' is alleged to have breached ASBO

AN Antrim town woman is accused of breaching an ASBO by having an 'internet-capable device' after police allegedly found a smartphone when they performed a bail check at her address on February 28.

A police officer said Joanne Mitchell (49), of Greenview Avenue, had a "substantial history" of similar offences - 27 'telecommunications' convictions; seven "bomb hoaxes" convictions and 13 breaches of Court Orders.

The defendant appeared via video link from Belfast at Antrim Magistrates Court, sitting in Ballymena.

District Judge Nigel Broderick granted bail saying he would give her "one last chance".

The case was adjourned to April 12.
