Arson accused has case sent to Crown Court

A GALGORM man accused of arson has had the case sent to Antrim Crown Court.

Adam Mairs (29) of Fenaghy Park, appeared at Ballymena Magistrates' Court via video link from Maghaberry Prison.

He is charged in relation to December 4 last year.

The charge of arson 'being reckless as to whether life would be endangered' relates to Douglas Terrace in Ballymena.

He is also charged with threatening to kill two people; causing criminal damage to a TV, crockery and a door; and assaulting a police officer.

The defendant was further remanded in custody and the case was adjourned to September 23 for arraignment at Antrim Crown Court.
