Ballymena Court hears man allegedly told ex-wife he would 'kick her to death'

A MAN with an address in the Galgorm Road area of Ballymena is accused of telling his ex-wife he would come to her home and "kick her to death".

Jan Certek (45), of The Grange, is charged with breaching a Non-Molestation Order on November 26 this year.

The defendant, who had the assistance of a Czech language interpreter, appeared at Ballymena Magistrates Court via video link from custody in Belfast.

The court heard the defendant's ex-partner was frightened and feared violence.

The court was told the defendant denied threatening his ex-wife.

District Judge Nigel Broderick said the defendant had a limited record and granted him bail in the sum of £500 with conditions including having no contact with his ex-wife and the case was adjourned to December 9.
