Ballymena Court hears of 'stabbing'

A WOMAN is accused of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and possession of cocaine.

Alesia Peldaiuniene (34), of Fisherwick Crescent in Ballymena, is charged in relation to February 20 this year.

At Ballymena Magistrates Court the defendant had the assistance of a Lithuanian language interpreter.

Peldaiuniene pleaded guilty to possessing cocaine and not guilty to the assault charge.

Defence barrister Stephen Law said the charge is connected to a "domestic incident involving a stabbing".

He said the 'complainant', the defendant's husband, has made a 'withdrawal statement'.

The case has been adjourned to April 14 to fix a date for a contest.
