Ballymena man (52) ordered to sign Sex Offenders Register

A BALLYMENA man (52) has been ordered to sign the Sex Offenders Register after admitting a charge of 'sexual communication with a child'.

Adrian Robb, of Chichester Park East, had the case mentioned at Ballymena Magistrates Court.

He pleaded guilty to a charge that between October 1, 2019, and April 22, 2020, 'for the purpose of obtaining sexual gratification, intentionally communicated' with a girl, 'and the communication was sexual or was intended to encourage' the girl to 'make (whether to you or to another) a communication that was sexual' and the girl was 'under 16 and you did not reasonably believe that she was 16 or over'.

The defendant was not present at court and a guilty plea was entered on his behalf by a defence barrister.

The case was adjourned to mid-August for a pre-sentence report.
