Ballymena man who had been accused of 'impersonation of a police officer' has charge withdrawn for caution

A MAN with a Ballymena address who was accused of 'impersonation of a police officer' has had the charge withdrawn for a caution.

Niall Greer (44), with an address listed as Antrim Road, was charged in relation to November 5, 2021.

The charge was that the defendant 'with intent to deceive, impersonated a member of the police force, or makes a statement, or did an act, calculated falsely to suggest that he was such a member'.

No further details were given to Ballymena Magistrates Court, where Emma McCann was the defence solicitor.
