Bangor man threw sand in partner's eye and bit her face

A MAN threw sand in the eye of his then partner at Ballyholme Beach and then pushed her to the ground at a caravan and bit her on the face, Newtownards Magistrates Court was told.

Kristopher Loudon (32), of Innisfayle Drive, admitted assault in relation to March 31 last year.

A defence lawyer said the defendant had been drunk at the time and has now separated from the woman.

The lawyer added: "He is apologetic, he has very little memory of this matter, but he now accepts the version of events put forward".

Deputy District Judge John Connolly said courts take such offences "very seriously" and handed down a four months jail sentence, suspended for a year, along with a one year Restraining Order.
