Banned driver had gone to a takeaway in Ballymena

A WOMAN who had gone to a hot food takeaway in Ballymena despite being a banned driver has been ordered to do 100 hours of Community Service as what District Judge Nigel Broderick described as a "direct alternative" to jail.

Claire Gilchrist (32), of Church Hill Avenue, Cloughmills, was detected on February 22 this year.

At Ballymena Magistrates Court she was also banned from driving for a year.
