A CARE home nurse who admitted driving without due care and attention in Ballymena claimed she was "extremely tired" and lost concentration at a roundabout on her way home.
Naom Kemunto (30), of Parklands in Ballymena, was also uninsured on February 8 this year.
Some damage was caused to her vehicle.
A defence solicitor told Ballymena Magistrates' Court the defendant is originally from Kenya where insurance is "advisable" but is "not a requirement".
The lawyer said the defendant had struck a kerb and no other vehicle was involved.
He said she had obtained the car two days before the incident and once the insurance situation in Northern Ireland was pointed out she obtained a policy.
The defendant was given six penalty points and fined £300.
