TWO men who had denied charges of assaulting a male occasioning him actual bodily harm and causing criminal damage to his watch and necklace have had the charges dismissed.
Colin Desmond Robinson (53), of Kintullagh Court, Ballymena, and Darren Morgan (37), of Raphael Park, Galgorm, had been charged in relation to December 27, 2019.
The case had been listed for a contest at Ballymena Magistrates Court.
Defence barrister Stephen Law told the court that after reading statements associated with the case he submitted "there was insufficient evidence to warrant a conviction".
Deputy District Judge Philip Mateer asked a prosecutor if there were any additional submissions and she said there were none.
The judge said he had also read the statements connected to the case and said he was "not satisfied they display a prima facie case" and dismissed the charges faced by each defendant.
