Chef admits stealing £295 of staff tips in Donaghadee

A CHEF has pleaded guilty to stealing £295 worth of 'staff tips' at the Pier 36 restaurant in Donaghadee.

Lewis Edward Robertson (32), with an address listed as Hyndford Street in Belfast, committed the offence on December 9 last year.

The defendant appeared at Newtownards Magistrates' Court (main picture) where a defence lawyer said it had been a "breach of trust".

A second charge of stealing staff tips worth £180 at 'Harbour and Co' restaurant in Donaghadee on December 9 was withdrawn by prosecutors.

The case was adjourned to August 12 for a pre-sentence report.
