County Antrim man denies charges saying he is holder of 'medicinal cannabis card'

A CARNLOUGH man accused of possessing cannabis in June last year and attempting to possess the drug on three occasions in January, April and July in 2021 denies the charges with defence solicitor Kevin MacAllister saying his client says he is a holder of a "medicinal cannabis card" and "obtained these items legally".

Roland O'Neill (43), of High Street, had the case mentioned at Ballymena Magistrates Court.

The court was told the defendant has MS and uses a wheelchair.

No further details were given and the matter has been fixed for a contest on February 10.
