County Antrim man is charged with damaging 20 trees

A MAN from the Randalstown area has been charged with causing criminal damage to twenty trees.

Damien Heffron (54), of Lenagh Road, is also charged with fraud by false representation by claiming he owned the trees.

The charges relate to July 2019.

Defence barrister Neil Moore told Antrim Magistrates Court, sitting in Ballymena, the defendant had raised £3,000 regarding the issue which he said was connected with a hedge.

The case has been adjourned to January 11.
