County Antrim woman admits 'improper use' of electronic communications regarding Sunday newspaper journalist

A WOMAN has pleaded guilty to 'improper use' of public electronic communications in relation to a Sunday newspaper journalist.

Jane Louse Manders (40), of Shankbridge Road, Kells, committed the offence on May 13 this year.

A defence barrister said a charge of making a 'threat to kill' the journalist was withdrawn by prosecutors.

The defence lawyer said his client was not before the court as she was in Cork but he was indicating a plea of guilty to the 'communications' charge on her behalf.

The charge sheet accused the defendant of sending a message of a 'menacing character'.

The barrister said: "The victim was a journalist".

Full details were not outlined and the case at Ballymena Magistrates Court (main picture) was adjourned to October 21 for a pre-sentence report.
