County Down man is accused of attempting to cause 'unnecessary suffering' to police dog

A MAN from the Leitrim area of County Down is accused of attempting 'to cause unnecessary suffering' to a police dog.

Miceal McCartan (32), of Bannanstown Road, is also charged with dangerous driving on Bann Road and Leitrim Road on the same date - September 25 last year.

Regarding the same date is is also charged with 'indecent behaviour' at Magheramayo Road near Leitrim and obstructing a police officer in the execution of his duty.

At Downpatrick Magistrates Court on Monday the case was adjourned to October for a contest.
