Court hears Ahoghill man allegedly drove off from PSNI checkpoint with 'police officer through window'

A COURT has heard an Ahoghill man allegedly drove off from a PSNI checkpoint with a "police officer through the window".

The claim was made by a defence lawyer at Ballymena Magistrates Court.

Full details of the case have yet to be outlined.

Brandon Thompson (20), of Brookfield Gardens, is charged in relation to February 25 last year.

He has pleaded not guilty to a charge of driving dangerously at Island Road near Ballymena.

The defendant admits possessing cannabis with intent to supply and has pleaded not guilty to possessing 'criminal property'.

The case was adjourned to April 14 to fix a date for a contest.
