Court hears man has left north Down to get away from 'negative influences'

A LAWYER said a man accused of driving whilst disqualified in Bangor has moved out of north Down to Newtownabbey to "distance himself from negative peer influences".

Details emerged at Newtownards Magistrates Court regarding Lionel Adrian Close (34), of Owenreagh Drive, Newtownabbey, who is also charged with using a Ford Ka without insurance in October this year.

The defendant was not present at Court.

District Judge Mark Hamill granted the defendant bail on the charges in the sum of £300 with a 9pm-7am curfew when he is to be electronically tagged.

A bail surety of £300 is also required, the court heard.

The case has been adjourned to January 19.
