Court hears nozzle detached from hose after motorist crashed into petrol pump at filling station in Ballymena

A MOTORIST who crashed into a fuel pump causing damage at the Maxol filling station at North Road in Ballymena has admitted driving without due care and attention.

Adrian Erwin (43), of Spence Crescent in Cullybackey, crashed at 12.25am on June 23 last year causing a nozzle to detach from a hose.

Police spoke to him a number of days later.

Defence solicitor Stewart Ballentine said it had been a "misjudgment" when the defendant was "tired" after "coming off nightshift".

At Ballymena Magistrates Court the case was adjourned to March 3.
