Court in Ballymena is told alleged assault is connected to 'Gaelic match'

A COURT in Ballymena has heard of an alleged assault in relation to a "Gaelic match".

Phelim McCloskey (42), of Casheltown Road near Ahoghill, is accused of committing an offence on May 7, 2021.

The defendant denies the charge and a contest is due to be held at the end of March.

The full details have yet to be outlined but a defence lawyer told Antrim Magistrates Court, sitting in Ballymena, the assault was connected to a "Gaelic match".
