Court in County Antrim hears Regional Manager 'chastened' after being caught speeding

A REGIONAL manager  who travels 20,000 miles a year for a retail firm found it a "very chastening experience" after being caught doing 70mph in an Audi in a 40mph zone at Oldstone Road near Antrim, a defence lawyer said.

Danielle Finlay (25), of Stoneyford Road, Lisburn, had the offence detected on June 21 this year, Antrim Magistrates Court, sitting in Ballymena, was told.

A prosecutor said the defendant had apologised to police.

District Judge Nigel Broderick said it was a "very high speed" and the defendant should "consider herself very fortunate" she was only receiving four penalty points and a £200 fine.
