A PAINTER is accused of fraud by false representation, Newtownards Magistrates Court has heard.

The charges are faced by Stephen Stewart (48), with addresses listed on court papers as Blackthorn Rise in Larne and Saintfield Road in Belfast.

He faces an allegation that he 'dishonestly made a false representation, namely to carry out home repairs' on January 8 this year.

He also faces four charges of attempted fraud by false representation on the same date.

The defendant has been before another court recently facing similar charges.

At Newtownards Court, the accused was further remanded in custody and the case was adjourned to March 2.
