Court is told of alleged 'stabbing' on Christmas Eve

A MAN charged in connection with an alleged stabbing on Christmas Eve last year is to contest the case.

Gerald Gould (45), formerly with an address listed in Antrim town but now listed as the Simon Community in Armagh city, is charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

Defence barrister Neil Moore told Antrim Magistrates' Court, sitting in Ballymena, the defendant was "alleged to have stabbed" a man.

Full details have yet to be outlined at court.

The case was adjourned to July 5 to fix a date for a contest.
