Drugs found after 'welfare' concerns at a Ballymena hostel

A COURT heard after there were concerns for the "welfare" of a number of residents at the Lighthouse Hostel in Ballymena, a small amount of cannabis and Diazepam tablets were found in the room of a man who appeared to be intoxicated and had to be taken to hospital due to his condition.

Details emerged at Ballymena Magistrates Court.

Cecil Donnelly (48) admitted possession of Class B and C drugs and was given a three months jail sentence, suspended for a year.
