Drugs thrown into church grounds after police saw motorist 'acting suspiciously' in Randalstown

POLICE saw a car "acting suspiciously" in Randalstown before a member of the public noticed a vehicle being exited and an item thrown into church grounds - and following a search 105 tablets of a Class C drug Meclonazepam were recovered.

Also thrown over the wall was a box containing prescription medication in the name of Aine Averell.

Her car was then located at Castle Road and during a search of her address a small amount of cannabis was found.

She also admitted possession of the drugs at the church.

The incident happened on September 12, 2020.

At Antrim Magistrates Court, sitting in Ballymena, Averell (31), with an address listed as Waring Street in Belfast, was put on Probation for a year.
