Drunk Lurgan man got wrong train home and ended up in Ballymena where he became disorderly

A LURGAN man was so drunk he got the wrong train home ... to Ballymena.

Christopher McDaid (31), of Dill Avenue, was then shouting and aggressive with Translink staff on March 2 this year.

When arrested he told police to 'Get the f--- off me' and when taken to Antrim PSNI Station he spat in the inside of a police vehicle and told an officer: 'F--- off you black b--tard'.

Defence barrister David McKeown said at the time of the offence the defendant had been due in court in Belfast and he decided to give himself "one last drink" before being sentenced.

He added after getting drunk McDaid  "caught the train home to Craigavon and ended up in Ballymena".

For charges of being disorderly and causing criminal damage, the defendant was jailed for three months at Ballymena Magistrates Court.
