Former model has matter further adjourned after appearing at court in Ballymena accused of 'concealing' 180,000 Euro in luggage at Belfast International Airport

A FORMER Dublin model has been further remanded in custody accused of concealing 180,550 Euro in hand luggage at Belfast International Airport whilst allegedly 'knowing or suspecting it to be criminal property'.

Mark Adams (42), of Castleheath, Malahide, is charged in relation to May 9, 2018.

He is also charged with attempting to remove the cash from Northern Ireland on the same date.

The defendant is further accused of entering into or becoming concerned in an arrangement, 'namely the removal of criminal property from Northern Ireland, knowing or suspecting that this arrangement would facilitate the retention, use or control of such criminal property by persons unknown'.

The defendant appeared at Antrim Magistrates Court, sitting in Ballymena, on Tuesday via video link from Maghaberry Prison.

This week's court heard the defendant had previously been sentenced in the Republic with a release date of December, 2023.

A defence lawyer said papers in the case before Antrim Magistrates Court were "voluminous" - in excess of 750 pages.

The case has been adjourned to November 2 to fix a date to send it to the Crown Court.

Adams had appeared in 2010 on the RTÉ TV dating show One Night Stand.
