'In charge' offence detected near Toomebridge after 'tyre change being attempted without wheel brace'

A WOMAN who was in charge of a vehicle whilst she was 'unfit' had the offence detected when police received a report the vehicle was parked up near Toome and a "male and female were seen attempting to change a tyre without a wheel brace".

Emma Louise Gribbin (30), of Draperstown Road, Desertmartin, had the offence detected on April 4 last year and at Ballymena Magistrates Court she was given ten penalty points and fined £400.

Her partner, Rory Eugene McKenna (30), of the same address, was found to be in possession of a Flubomazolam tablet and had cannabis in his home.

A defence lawyer said a number of references were handed in to the court regarding both defendants.

District Judge Nigel Broderick said it was not the first time McKenna had been in court for drugs offences and he was ordered to do 75 hours Community Service.
