Jail sentence for man who broke into outbuilding in County Antrim

A MAN who admitted burglary of an outbuilding with intent to steal at Carmavy Road near Antrim town has been jailed for six months.

Colin Crawford (33), with an address given as HMP Maghaberry, also pleaded guilty to criminal damage of a Honda motorbike.

An incident happened on an unknown date between April 28 and May 25 in 2020.

The defendant appeared via video link from prison at Antrim Magistrates Court, sitting in Ballymena, which heard he is currently serving a sentence with a release date in 2023.

A prosecutor said the defendant's blood was found at the outbuilding where a window had been broken.

A defence lawyer said the offence happened at a time when the defendant was taking drugs and leading a "chaotic lifestyle".
