Jail term for Kircubbin man

A KIRCUBBIN man has been given a three months jail term for offences including being disorderly at a shop in the village.

Alan Campbell (30), of Cooks Brae, committed offences on September 30 this year.

He appeared at Newtownards Magistrates Court which heard the defendant was at the shop after 8am and took a bottle of wine and began to drink it prior to an off-licence opening.

He refused to leave and when asked to do so he lifted a second bottle of wine and left.

He went to a cash machine and returned and paid for the wine.

Looking through the defendant's criminal record, Deputy District Judge Gerard Trainor said he "lost count" of the number of offences.
