Judge tells court in Ballymena he is considering writing a book on 'excuses'

A JUDGE told Antrim Magistrates Court, sitting in Ballymena, he hears so many 'excuses' as to why contests have to be delayed he could compile them in a book.

District Judge Nigel Broderick heard that in one case a police officer went to pick up CCTV only to be told when he got there that it had been sent out to him "via internal post".

Judge Broderick said: "You couldn't make this up, could you? He goes to collect it and somebody posts it to him before he gets there.

"Some day I am going to collect all these excuses and publish a book because nobody would believe half the things I'm told".
