Man (20) is charged with possessing 'unregistered' mobile phone in breach of Sexual Offences Prevention Order

A 20-YEAR-OLD with a Ballymoney address is accused of breaching a Sexual Offences Prevention Order by allegedly possessing an 'unregistered' mobile phone, 'accessing social media platforms' and failing to provide a PIN code.

Charlie Hill, of Chestnut Grove, is also alleged to have been in possession of an indecent photo of an 'unknown child' on the same day - June 6 this year.

He is also alleged to have 'distributed' or shown an indecent photo of a child on March 28 this year.

The accused appeared via video link from Coleraine Police Station at Antrim Magistrates' Court, sitting in Ballymena.

A defence lawyer said no application for bail was being made.

The defendant was remanded in custody to appear at Coleraine Magistrates' Court, sitting in Ballymena, on June 13.
