Man accused of possessing machete as offensive weapon on July 12 has matter sent to Crown Court

A NEWTOWNARDS man accused of possessing a machete as an offensive weapon on July 12 this year has had the matter sent to the Crown Court.

Norman Reid (62), of Anson Gardens, is also accused of making a threat to kill; assaulting two people and causing criminal damage to a fence.

He appeared at Newtownards Magistrates Court and the case was sent to the Crown Court on a date to be fixed.

The defendant was given £300 bail and is to have no contact with the alleged injured parties and is also not to be under the influence of alcohol in public.
