Man accused of threatening to 'destroy dog' is allowed to return to Ahoghill

A MAN accused of, according to a charge sheet, threatening to 'destroy or damage' a dog and possessing a knife as an offensive weapon in Ahoghill has had bail changed to allow him to re-enter the village.

Robin John Scott (56), formerly of Main Street in the village now has an address at Thornbrooke.

He is charged in relation to July 27 this year.

At Ballymena Magistrates Court, where the defence solicitor was David McIlrath, it was heard the defendant's new bail conditions mean he is only allowed to travel through the Ballymena Road area of the village whilst on public transport or attending a pre-arranged appointment with his GP.

The case was adjourned to September 23.
