A MAN has admitted stealing tobacco during a 'burglary' of a 'police area' at Belfast International Airport.

Stephen Dickson (48), of Lavens Drive, Belfast, committed the offence on October 26 this year.

Full details of the case were not outlined to Antrim Magistrates Court, sitting in Ballymena.

The court heard the defendant had a previously clear record.

The defendant appeared via video link from his solicitor's office.

District Judge Nigel Broderick said given the "unusual" nature of the charge and the "location" he wanted a pre-sentence report.

The case has been adjourned to January 11.
