Man in police station put 'hand between his buttocks' and pulled out heroin

A MAN put his hand "between his buttocks" and removed two wraps of heroin at a police station in Belfast, Ballymena Magistrates Court heard.

Martin Smyth (33), of Norglen Parade, Belfast, was also caught with Buprenorphine on another occasion

On another date - December 4 last year - he "spat in the face" of a police officer after being placed in a cell in Antrim Police Station.

Defence barrister Thomas McKeever said the defendant had a "a long standing history of drug issues".

Smyth was given a three months prison term, suspended for a year.
