Man is accused of endangering lives with 'attempted arson' in Ballymena

A MAN accused of endangering the lives of two people by attempting to damage by fire property at Princes Street in Ballymena has had his case sent to Antrim Crown Court.

Derek Edens (62), of Princes Street, is charged in relation to June 27 this year.

In relation to the same date he is also charged with causing criminal damage to a police cell and PSNI mobile phone.

The case was mentioned at Ballymena Magistrates Courrt.

The defendant has been further remanded in custody and the case adjourned to Antrim Crown Court on November 5.
