A MAN is accused of being disorderly at Antrim Area Hospital.

Raymond George Neal (40), of Bleach Green Avenue in Newtownabbey, is charged in relation to February 16 this year when he is also accused of assaulting a police officer and resisting another police officer in the execution of his duty.

The defendant is also charged with fraud by false representation by allegedly claiming he had "sufficient funds" for a taxi on February 7 this year.

Defence barrister Neil Moore told Antrim Magistrates Court, sitting in Ballymena, the defendant has had an "ongoing mental health battle".

He said the defendant also faced other charges "where he heard voices in his house" and had allegedly damaged the property.

The current cases were adjourned to September 21.
