Man is fined in connection with dog fouling in area of cemetery

A MAN has been fined £260 and ordered to pay costs in connection with dog fouling in the area of Redburn Cemetery, Holywood.

David Condliffe, of unknown age, of Knockbreda Park, Belfast, had contested charges of permitting a dog to foul on land; and failing to give personal information but was convicted at Newtownards Magistrates Departmental Court.

The specifics of the first charge are that at 12.40pm on Saturday July 18, 2020, 'near Redburn Cemetery, Holywood, you, being in charge of a dog and said dog having defecated on land, without reasonable excuse, did fail to remove forthwith faeces from that land'.

The specifics of the second charge were that he failed to give his name and address to the officer 'or gave false or inaccurate details'.

Bail was fixed for appeal.
