Man lobbed large vodka bottle from first floor window towards police in Ballynahinch

A LARGE vodka bottle smashed on the ground after being lobbed by a man from the first floor window of his flat at High Street in Ballynahinch.

Details emerged as Michael Murray (32), had his case at Downpatrick Magistrates Court on Monday adjourned to October for a pre-sentence report.

A prosecutor said that at 12.30am on May 15 this year police had attended the defendant's flat and he behaved in an "aggressive manner" from the window.

He was verbally abusive to police, shouting and swearing, and then threatened to throw a vodka bottle.

He then did throw it out of the window towards police and it smashed on the ground.
