Man was shouting and swearing on street whilst 'children were in bed' on Christmas Eve

POLICE warned a Glynn man about shouting and swearing in the street whilst "children were in bed" on Christmas Eve and when he continued he was arrested.

Luke Magee (19), of Glenvale Park, pleaded guilty to being disorderly at Cairngorm Drive in Larne at 12.50am on December 24 last year.

A defence lawyer told Ballymena Magistrates' Court the defendant had "significant" addiction issues but had a "fairly limited record".

After reading a pre-sentence report, Deputy District Judge Chris Holmes said: "I have to say this is very rare from me because the one judicial/custodial organisation I have never had any difficulty with and have great respect for is the Probation Service but this has to be the least helpful report I think I have ever read".

The defendant was given a two year conditional discharge.
