Man who had been accused over alleged 'ride-on lawnmower' incident has charges withdrawn

A COUNTY Down man who had been accused of using a 'ride-on lawnmower' without insurance in a 'public place' and dangerous driving has had all the charges he faced withdrawn by prosecutors.

Stephen Thomas Samuel Cully (37), of Lawson Gardens, Portavogie, had been charged in relation to Lawson Gardens on June 9 this year.

The defendant had also been charged with failing to stop, remain and report an accident 'whereby injury was caused to a person other than' himself.

The case had been listed at Newtownards Magistrates Court for a potential contest on Monday November 29 but a prosecution lawyer said the charges were withdrawn.
