A BELFAST man who stole charity boxes belonging to Guide Dogs NI and Marie Curie Cancer Care is due to be sentenced in September.

Daniel Stephen Brown (31), is alleged to have stolen £150 in the Guide Dogs box on November 20 last year and £80 from the Marie Curie box on December 10, 2021.

The case was mentioned at Antrim Magistrates' Court, sitting in Ballymena (main picture), where a defence lawyer  said the defendant had been due to have been sentenced at Craigavon Crown Court for a 'breach of trust' but that case had been put back to September.

She said "similar matters" had also been adjourned in Belfast.
