Man with Ballymena address is accused of attempting to cause gas explosion on July 12

A MAN is accused of attempting to cause a gas explosion on July 12 this year.

Daniel O'Boyle (33), with an address listed as Drumtara in Ballymena, is accused of attempting 'to cause a gas explosion, following tampering with mains gas supply' which was likely to endanger life or damage property.

He is also charged with causing criminal damage to gas piping belonging to Firmus Energy and assaulting a police officer.

No further details were given at Ballymena Magistrates Court and the case was adjourned to August 19.
