Newtownards man accused of threatening to kill Health Minister Robin Swann has court case further adjourned

A 44-year-old Newtownards man charged with making a threat to kill Health Minister Robin Swann has had his court case further adjourned to February 9.

William Herbert Hawkes of Ardmillan Crescent is accused in relation to Twitter social media posts relating to the minister.

He is also accused of harassing Mr Swann and improper use of electronic communications.

At an earlier court a police officer said that on November 15 last year Mr Swann reported that that threatening messages had been posted on Twitter, including one saying: 'I would advocate the killing of Northern Ireland's health minister.'
