Police patrol with windows down smelt cannabis, Ballymena Court hears

A POLICE patrol with their windows down detected a smell of cannabis as they passed a man's car in the Ballymena area and after cannabis was found in the vehicle more of the drug was unearthed during a search of his home with the total amount discovered being 194 grammes.

Jason Coulter (46), formerly of Smithfield Place in Ballymena but now of Quarry Hill in Ahoghill, admitted a charge of possessing cannabis in relation to July 26, 2020.

At Ballymena Magistrates Court the case was adjourned to April 14 for a pre-sentence report.

The defendant has pleaded not guilty to charges of harassment of a man; causing criminal damage to the man's van and improper use of a public electronic communications network in relation to December 11/12 last year and that case was adjourned to March 3 to fix a date for a contest.
